Final Project: Sarah

My final project is centered around my best friend Sarah.  Sarah is a runner here at BYU and my initial idea for my final project was to capture her at one of her races.  That idea slowly transformed into taking photos of her directly after one of her daily runs.  No makeup, hair undone, and completely unplanned so I could take natural pictures of her face and body.

Assignment #5 Portraits

My friend's mom on the phone. I asked her if I could take her picture while she was on the phone standing on the porch.  I just started taking pictures without her realizing. By the time she got off I thanked her and told her I got what I needed. Easy peezy. It was convenient because she hates the camera so she didn't feel uncomfortable because she wasn't aware I was taking the photos.
 My little brother, Bud.
Worst part of the assignment.  I tried a couple different ideas out to 'capture  myself not being myself'.  I hated all of them. So straight out of the shower and with a face masque on I took some photos with the help of my roommate.  Everyone sees the end result after getting ready to go out everyday, so this is me without my hair brushed, makeup, or my glasses on.

Assignment #4 Color Theory

This assignment was simple to do in my own apartment.  I found it hard to find actual objects instead of just fabrics, like my bedspread and my jacket.  Bracketing made worlds difference for me in this assignment.

Assignment #2 Numbers

My initial idea was to recruit a friend of mine to represent numbers 0-99 through American Sign Language.  Around 40 she refused to take one more pictures so I moved to the microwave in the kitchen and started punching in numbers.

I struggled with this assignment, mainly because I think I was overcomplicating the concept of exposure.  I am horrible and math, and this assignment made me realize how many numbers are in the camera and go into a good picture.  I need much more practice before I am comfortable.

Assignment #1-Scavenger Hunt

unedited

 edited

 gross

During this assignment I got comfortable exporting, importing, and navigating my way around lightroom to edit photos.  I found while shooting that I am not used to shooting objects, and I enjoy taking pictures of friends and people more than landscape or objects.  I need to improve my ability to take pictures of objects.  All my pictures were taken in Boulder City, NV when I went home for the weekend.
